MEET THE WONDERLAND ARTISTS
They create soft but vibrant; mainly oil/acrylic based, fantasia works of art
Te Kahutanika Donna Smith-Wheatley
The Instigator
Using a shortened version of her name, Tanika (known as T. Don in her local art community), has taught at clubs and community centres, and now shares tricks and tips at the Queen of Arts (QOA) Tea Party workshops with the other Wonderland artists. Her artist father was her teacher, so she signs her work T Don (he was known as Don), in memory of him, and his amazing talent. But her mother’s Pacific heritage, is her main source of inspiration.
Yvonne Halpin
The Enthusiast

Has always enjoyed crafts, including gardening, and cooking.

She enjoys all styles of painting, but she has a natural flair for contemporary/abstract work.

She loves the beach, the source of her inspiration, and her daring and vibrant use of colour reflects this passion of hers, in every sweeping, wavy brush-stroke.

Lyn Heritage-Scarce
The Perfectionist
Is a lover of all home handcrafts, from Pactchwork to Quilting. An all-round talented artist, she is a perfectionist, and every painting reflects her zest for life, and she is happiest, when creating. Like her, her style is precise and meticulous, and every painting is a master of expertly swirling brushes to canvass.
Kerry Mart
The Captivator

A naturally talented artist, Kerry loved painting, had a break from it for awhile, and returned to it when Tanika saw her work and invited her to join the Wonderland artists.

She teaches Resin Art at the Creative Beginnings Studio. Her smudging and smoothing of mediums is impressively captivating. No challenge is too difficult, for Kerry.

Susan McShane
The Illusionist

Although she didn’t realise it, Susan has natural skills for painting that most artists take years to perfect. She attended Kerry’s workshops at Creative Beginnings, where Tanika noticed her abilities, and invited her to join the Wonderland artists.

She has a talent for deftly smearing the paints perfectly, creating soft, smooth, magical works of art.

Rikie Klaassen
The Creator

Rikie’s variety of crafts is spell-binging. She is experienced and successful with her Textile work. She attended Kerry’s Creative Beginning workshops where she met Tanika, who was impressed with the way that she seemingly sprinkled the colours; and was invited to join the Wonderland Artists.

Her enthusiasm shows in her work, and her paintings are truly, remarkable reflections of herself.
